Elevation Certificate Inspections and COVID-19 Safety

  • All our workers undergo a daily health check before work to make sure they are feeling well, do not have a fever and have not been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Our survey technician will also ask you upon arriving at your house if anyone in your household is not feeling well, has a fever or has been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms. We may also text or email you to confirm these issues via text or email, should we have that information.
  • Give you a call or text when we arrive to greet you and sort out next steps over the phone. This typically involves you describing how to access your basement or crawlspace area and where your home’s mechanical systems are located. You can certainly discuss this with our survey technician directly, maybe outside is best, as long as appropriate social distancing is observed and face coverings or masks are worn.
  • Our survey technician wears a mask and one-time-use, disposable shoe covers and gloves. We ask that you and anyone else in your home wear a face covering or mask when in the same room as our survey technician.
  • Go right to your basement – no need to lead us there personally.
  • Contactless inspections – inside and outside inspections do not require your contact with our survey technician.
  • Send all documents and receive payments electronically without the worry of handling physical cards or cash.

Our 4-Step FEMA Elevation Certificate Process

With everyone safe and healthy, our 4-step process makes everything fast, easy and SAFE!

  1. Place your order – Elevation Certificate service is easily ordered online >>https://fostersurvey.com/product/elevation-certificate/. This makes getting you FEMA Elevation Certificate fast, easy and SAFE!
  2. Schedule a home inspection – Once you’ve placed your order let us know the day and time that’s convenient for you to have us inspect and survey the inside of your home. Typically, our home inspection takes about 30 minutes (homes with complicated basements or difficult to reach crawlspaces take longer).
  3. Exterior Surveying – We take surveying measurements of the ground elevations at the exterior perimeter of your home (including attached decks and stairs) and measure the floor elevations and, if you have one, your attached garage slab elevation. You do not have to be home for this work, but we do need access to any enclosed yard areas and please unlock any crawlspace access doors. Also, it is very helpful if your dog(s) are not left outside while we do our surveying work (friendly pooches excepted).
  4. Elevation Certificate delivered – You will receive the completed Elevation Certificate via email (in .pdf format). If you don’t use email or you would prefer to receive your completed Elevation Certificate by regular mail, we are happy to do so.
